Hi Nate
I liked the analogy! We here so many stories about selfishness, greed, betrayal and dishonesty that they seem to be the norm. I believe that most of us do the best we can, and I think the main thing is to treat people the way you would like to be treated and if you do stuff up then own up and do what you can to rectify it.

"Choose a good reputation over great riches; being held in high esteem is better than silver or gold."-King Solomon

It is so important to be more interested in integrity than making a buck. That's why we must run our companies on the "up and up". I don't think the customer is ALWAYS right, or that you should lay belly-up everytime a customer complains, but you do want to give the benefit of the doubt most of the time.

I agree with your posting: let your brand say "This business does it right! We are worth your trust."

The "waist" has been fixed :) Thanks Mr. Moller the English teacher. It's interesting how so many people leave sound principles and ethics to the side when they start seeing dollar signs. I saw an update today on ESPN and the sports announcer was asking an important question, <blockquote>"Wouldn't Roger have been better off if he would have handled things just like Jason Giambi or Andy Pettitte did? Simply told the truth - that in order to keep up with the sluggers who were 'juicing' all the time, he did what he felt he had to do?"</blockquote> Obviously this is assuming he is guilty. As the cliche goes, "Honesty is the best policy." Thanks for the comments.

He was a great pitcher and then his career was over. Then he became an even better pitcher than he had been when in his prime.

And the way he answered questions leaves little doubt he had to parse his words. Truth flows out of the mouth easily. Obfuscation takes effort and that's what we saw.

There is no doubt the man is guilty of using products to recreate his career. Any other conclusion is marketing.

Hi Nate,
Isn't it interesting how the golden rule and sound principles and ethics apply to practically every area of life, whether baseball or eCommerce? Thanks for the reminder!
